To begin, open up PhotoShop CS3. Create a new document with whatever size you prefer. I chose 400 x 150, because I like that size.
Now, you can use a render, background, or anything else if you want. I am only teaching you to animate the text, though. So grab the Text tool.
Choose the area you want your text to be, and type it.
Once you have typed your message, click Window, and Animation.
Now, you should see something similar too this.
Yours, of course, will have the text you chose inside of the selected area with the number, 1. We need to change this. Go to the layer with your text, and bring the opacity down to 0.
Now you need to duplicate the animation frame. Do by clicking this button.
Once you have duplicated it, make sure you have the second frame on the animation selected. Now change the text opacity back to 100. This causes the first frame to have no text, but the second does. It should look something like this.
So now you need to click on the first frame again, and the button next to the duplicate button that looks like one ball with fades behind it.
This tool is called Tween, which is very important in an animation.
chose the settings as shown.
now open up tween with the last frame. and use these settings.
once again open up tween with your last frame.(almost done with anim.) and use these settings.
So, now that we have all that down, press the play button and watch your animated text!
it will seem fast in photoshop. but once you upload it. it will look like this.(i didnt change the anim. speeds and i added more then one word so it looks a lil different).
to save it. You press file, and then Save For Webs & Devices, and then save. Upload it on tinypic, imageshack, photobucket, etc. and you are done! Congratulations!
p.s when you upload it. upload it as a video. or else it will only show your first anim. frame and you wont have any magical stuff goin down. lol
